Palestinians have invested $20 million or more in new tourist infrastructure in Gaza.
Palestinians have invested $20 million or more in new tourist infrastructure in Gaza.

Along with shopping malls and fancy restaurants, a lot of money has also been invested in new seaside and tourist resorts.

Thousands of Palestinian families have started to visit the resorts, which have created a boom in the local tourism industry.

Many investors who used to shuffle their money into smuggling operations have had that livelihood cut off by Israeli raids on smuggling tunnels, causing them to find other projects, including the resorts.

The resorts offer a variety of restaurants, beaches and playgrounds.
